The final design of the 2009 Lincoln penny represents the final stages of Lincoln’s life: The Presidency. This design known as LP4 (Lincoln Penny 4) is the last model of the celebration of the bicentennial of the Lincoln penny. The reverse side of the 2009 penny shows the Capitol with its half completed dome on top. The designer of the coin was Susan Gamble and sculptor was Joseph Menna.
